As a ferry carrying 300 passengers from Denmark enters a small port in an Icelandic town, heavy snow begins to fall. The ferry cannot leave until the storm passes and the main road to the city is impassable. A mutilated and dismembered body washes ashore, an unidentified man killed only a few hours ago. The head of the local police, Andri Olafssun, whose personal life is falling apart, realizes that a murderer has descended on his city. As the word spreads, the order disintegrates into chaos like the passengers of the ferry, and the inhabitants of the city realize that they are all possible suspects and that a killer is caught between them.
